THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Many people stay away from the Book of Revelation because they find the symbolism frightening or confusing, or both!  But the Book of Revelation was meant to be a book of comfort to those caught up in the persecution at the end of the first century, says Ms Frances Taylor.  Christians in "Rome" had been blamed by Nero I for destroying much of the city.  They were often called "cannibals" because of their Eucharistic celebrations where they shared the "body and blood of Christ."  (they symbolically used bread and fruit of the vine for the body and blood.)

Domitian was another Emperor who persecuted the Christians at the end of the century; he was most likely the emperor who earned the designation "666".  The number 7 is very often mentioned in this book, which is the number that symbolizes completion and when in threes, God.  Domitian was considered the Satan, who clamed to be God, and fell short for the Christian, the greater danger was the loss of eternal life, not the earthly death.  Frances Taylor says this book was written to give hope and courage.  She goes on to say she is relieved that she does not face the violence that Christians in other parts of the world have to face.

Considering the three major religions worship the same God, she doesn't understand the hatred that seems to exist between radicals of all three.  The "Romans" were not "Christians", nor Jew, and had a different idea of a god.  The Romans claimed that Domitian the Emperor of Rome himself, was a god and therefore needed to be worshipped.  They claimed he could do anything he wanted.

INSPIRATION by Frances Taylor
We worship God within our Churches with fellow brothers and sisters' in Christ.  We unite together in HIS name to grow our community and strengthen our faith.  We fight against the evil lurking  in the world.  We should love our church family and praise God for bringing us together in HIS name.  We should be thankful to our Heavenly Father for our church family and unite together to spread the WORD according to God's will.

Psalm 132:7 says, "We will go into the tabernacles:  we will worship at his footstool."
