On this day, October 8, we solemnly remember the passing of these beloved members of our James family: Samuel James, Jr. (1789-1821), son of Samuel James, Sr. (1754-1812) and Hannah Smith (1758-1844) of Radnor Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania; born circa 1789 in Harrison County, Virginia; 1800 moved with parents to Jefferson County, Ohio; married August 12, 1813 at the Abington meetinghouse to Lydia Worrall (1793-1865); died October 8, 1821 (aged 32); buried at Short Creek Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Jefferson County, Ohio; known children include: Israel James, Mary Ann James, Sidney James, Rebecca W. James, Martha M. James. Elijah Washington Howell (1799-1864), son of Hannah James (1772-1852) and Jesse Howell (1775-1855) of Loudoun County, Virginia; born December 14, 1799 in Shelburne Parish, Loudoun County, Virginia; married February 18, 1822 in Bedford County, Virginia to Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” James (1803-1882), daughter of Isaac James (1770-1853) and Mary Elizabeth “Polly” James (1744-1864); died October 8, 1864 (aged 64) in Appanoose County, Iowa; buried at Brethren Church Cemetery, Moulton, Appanoose County. Robert “Rob” A. James (1898-1948), son of Alfred “Ab” Clark James (1870-1936) and Cammie Racheline George (1877-1965) of Franklin County, Alabama; born November 7, 1898 in Alabama; married Estain Clyde Davis (1897-1991); died October 8, 1948; buried at Ridge Cemetery, Itawamba County, Mississippi; known children include: Jesse James and Frank James. Elizabeth “Lizzie” Alice James (1904-1972), daughter of Braxton Leftrich James (1864-1923) of Fannin County, Texas and Flora Alice Johnson (1874-1960); born June 26, 1904 in Merkel, Jones County, Texas; married September 16, 1922 to Fred W. Beal (1902-1937); died October 8, 1972 (aged 68) in Whitney, Hill County, Texas buried at Whitney Memorial Park, Whitney, Hill County, Texas; known children include: Braxton Warren Beal. Robert “Bob” Joseph James (1925-2016), son of Joseph Arthur James (1899-1945) of Crawford County, Kansas and Maggie May Loomis (1904-1982); born July 13, 1925 in Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas; married October 15, 1948 in Mulberry, Kansas to Rosemarie Bevans (1925-2014), daughter of Edward L Bevans and Nellie M. Robbins; died October 8, 2016 (aged 91) in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; buried at Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry, Crawford County, Kansas; known children include: Mary Lynn James, Joseph Edward James and Steven Brian James (Family Tree Y-DNA Kit No. 914135). | Posted by Larry James on Face Book October 8, 2023.
