HEAD COVERINGS FOR WOMEN

1 Corinthians 11:2 - Now I command you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you.
verse 4 - Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dis-honors his head.
verse 5 - but every wife (woman) who prays or prophesies with her head
uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were 
shaven.
verse 6 - For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair 
short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her 
head, let her cover her head.
verse 13 - Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with 
her head uncovered?
verse 14 - Does not nature itself, teach you that if a man wears long hair 
it is a disgrace to him,
verse 15 - but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory?" For her hair is 
given to her for a covering.
verse 16 - If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have NO such 
practice, nor do the Churches of God.  (a woman does not need to cover
her head when she prays, unless her head is shaven.) 

1 Corinthians 11:5 - the Greek word gune (long e) is translated wife in
verses that deal with wearing of a veil. In the first century culture wearing
a veil was a sign of being married. (to me there is a difference between
a head covering and a veil.  The veil is worn over the face of a woman. not over her hair.)

THE BOOK OF REVELATION

THE LIFE OF SAUL/PAUL

            Paul was born a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin.  He was also a Roman Citizen.  He was born in the Roman City of Tarsus.  In those days people had dual names.  Before he was known as apostle Paul, he was known as Saul of Tarsus.  Saul was his Hebrew name, Paul was his Roman name.  As Saul before his conversion he sought out the believers in Jesus.  He would hunt them down, bind them up and take them to Jerusalem to be killed.  Jesus did not change his name at his conversion.            Saul went to the high priest asking for letters to allow him entry into the synagogues at Damascus, so he could hunt down men and women that professed to be believers in Jesus.
