 OBITUARY OF JEAN O. MEEKS
November 27, 1933 To November 13, 2020

Jean O. Thomasson Meeks, age 86, resident of Broken Arrow went to sleep in Jesus on Friday morning November 13, 2020 at the Broken Arrow Nursing Home. Jean was born on November 27, 1933 in Encinitas, California and was the daughter of Henry Franklin Thomasson and "Lily" Lillian Gertrude Maple Thomasson.

Jean married the love of her life, Ralph Meeks on January 3, 1955 in Coweta, Oklahoma. She was a devoted homemaker, who loved caring for her family and was also a nurses aid. Jean enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, working in her flower beds, raising chickens, and going to garage sales. She also loved traveling to different places, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Jean is survived by her six daughters, Frankie Dale Smith and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, OK; Teresa Gail Baujan and husband Mike of Coweta, Ok; Pearl Annette Wilson of Collinsville, OK; Shelley Jones and husband Jimmie of Claremore, OK; Glea Jean Alkhatib of Claremore, OK; and Joylea Alice Meeks of Talihina, Ok; one sister Joann Baucom of Muskogee, OK; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Meeks, her parents Henry and Lily Thomasson; her son Ralph Eugene Meek, Jr., four sisters; five brothers; one grandson Andy Meeks and one granddaughter Pam Baujan.

THE LIFE OF SAUL/PAUL

            Paul was born a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin.  He was also a Roman Citizen.  He was born in the Roman City of Tarsus.  In those days people had dual names.  Before he was known as apostle Paul, he was known as Saul of Tarsus.  Saul was his Hebrew name, Paul was his Roman name.  As Saul before his conversion he sought out the believers in Jesus.  He would hunt them down, bind them up and take them to Jerusalem to be killed.  Jesus did not change his name at his conversion.            Saul went to the high priest asking for letters to allow him entry into the synagogues at Damascus, so he could hunt down men and women that professed to be believers in Jesus.
