SHORE STORIES

Leah and Mike are now with a group of former Scientology members

Leah - Scientology likes to run around saying its just like any other religion, and that it should be respected like any other religion.  And yet, its the only business on the planet that has never done any-thing wrong since its inception.  Like, has never admitted to any wrong doing.
Mike - Exactly -- when the FBI did conduct an investigation in 2009 ....
all Sea Organization members are taught to lie to the authorities.

exurp from an article on Scientology
All Sea Org members are instructed how to lie to outsiders and authorities who might inquire of their living and working conditions.

Leah - Right -- there is another element for Sea Org members, which not a lot of people really know about, which is something called "Shore Stories".   A Shore Story is basically the bull (bleep) you're told to tell law enforcement about something that happened, a crime, a rape, a beating, in Scientology -- a death --, and so you're basically told by your Seniors in Scientology, what you're going to say to the FBI.  What you are going to say to the police.  What you are going to say to Child Protective Services, if they should show up.

Leah - to the audience - So You're all part of the Sea Org?  Who wants to share a Shore Story first?  Many hands went up --  So, I want to introduce Valeska Paris, who has came all the way from Australia to be with us.  Val - You were brought onto a Scientology Ship at what age?
Val - 18 - I was auditing a guy on the ship, an engineer and he obviously had mental problems.  So, I wrote a letter to the highest people on the ship, including the Captain, that I could no longer counsel him, because he needed professional help, which obviously he would have needed a psychiatrist or psychologist, but that's completely taboo in Scientology.  So nothing was done about it, and he ended up committing suicide.  When he committed suicide, we were either in Aruba or Bonaire.  So, the highest executives on the Ship, decided to sail the Ship to Curacao with his dead body lying on the shower floor.
Leah - Just so that Scientology could avoid -- bad PR --
Val - Because we had better PR -- the best PR for Scientologist is in Curacao.
Leah - I see.
Val - So, we got to Curacao, and the port Captain contacted whoever was a shore, and his body was removed not through the normal way.  It was removed through where we store our food for parties, where all the food comes in, in a black bag so that nobody could see it. -- and I as his counselor -- I had to go through his counseling folder and black out anything, with a black marker, that would incriminate
Scientology, which I did.  I didn't know that was wrong.  I thought I
was, like, helping.  And then I was upset about it, because I had counseled him.  And I felt guilty because he killed himself.  And I told, like, the highest person on the Ship, and she's like you shouldn't be upset about it.  He's a suppressive person. And she was saying, I wish he had gone to the hotel and killed himself in the hotel, because then we wouldn't have the bad PR.  And his family, who had never been in Scientology, who were in Mexico, were told he had a heart attack.  No one else on the Ship knew of his death, except for the people like me, who went and blacked out the evidence.

There were many more Shore Stories shared, but I didn't get them all.  These stories are out right lies, false information to keep Scientology from being exposed for what it is, an evil cult.

The Church of Scientology denies Valeska Paris' claims... Her mis-characterizations are not surprising given she has claimed on numerous occasions that she was held against her will on the Ship... laughable -- demonstrably false statements -- given the myriad photos and other evidence documenting her frequent travel away from the Ship.  (Church of Scientology letter -- 08/13/2019)

Leah - The audience is wondering --
Mike - who in Scientology that needs help -- who to turn to? The Amie Sobee's of this world - former Sea Org members - Michael Levitt, they have Aaron Smith-Levins of the world, other Scientologists, they have resources.

Mike - and that's what we hoped and have always hoped that we would accomplished by doing this program.  We see the change that has been in how people perceive what Scientology is, and that victims of Scientology are not a bunch of weirdos, crackpots, but are real people, who came into Scientology either because they were children to begin with, or they wanted to help.  Scientologists generally are good people that want to help other people.  And that's how they get trapped.  And to have the public at large understand at least better now, what really goes on, and the type of people that are getting hurt. and that the hurt and the pain is real, is the most gratifying thing of all, about doing this show.  I also will tell you, and I know I speak for Leah, this isn't the end.  this is by no stretch the end, because there are still people being hurt.  The abuses have not been stopped.  And we're not stopping until they have been stopped.  I promise you!
Leah - Our fight is not over, and I hope you are just as enraged as I am.
Mike - What Leah has brought to this battle to put an end to the abuses of Scientology, is unlike what has ever been done before.  Nobody has brought to the attention of the world the pain, the real pain, that people have suffered in Scientology, and made it understandable and relatable.

Note:  Many have left David Miscavige's Scientology because of the abuse and torture many members go through, and the Shore stories that most members and the world don't hear bout. They are horrifying stories, unbelievable stories, which Scientology says are all lies.  But you can see from these articles, former members are coming forward with the saviagry David Miscavige has brought to Scientology.  He has gone way past L. Ron Hubbard's Policies.  It was never meant to be a Church.  Hubbard changed it to a church for gain.  We are not immortals in and terrestal body, we do not have immortality.  If we did, why is Hubbard long gone, dead?  Where is he now?  What church doesn't teach in a higher being?

Mike
 -  and what she has done about it!

Leah Remini doubles down on anti-Scientology Crusade:  "I want a Federal Investigation!"  This series belongs to the brave ones sharing their stories.

Leah - Our fight has to go beyond the restraints of Network Television.  I never knew that my fight would be so big, so colossal -- I did believe in doing three seasons, that would be enough, but we see that we have to go further.  So, we will do that!  Rest assured Scientology that this IS NOT THE END!
