PRODUCERS INTERVIEW - LEAH & MIKE

Mike and Leah were interviewed by Producers in front of a studio audience of Reddit AMA members.  

Questions from the Producers to Leah and Mike:

Producer - What is it like in the Sea Org?

Leah - If you're a child, you're separated from your parents and put into a dorm with other children with virtually no supervision.  You wake up, you eat cmmunially, um, you are to report to work, you might get a few minutes of an education and the rest of the time study Scientology, and then you are put to work like any adult Sea Org member, and a day usually wraps up at 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. each night. 

The Church claims that children are not currently permitted to participate in the Sea Org.  There was a Cadet Org, but it was officially disbanded in 1996.  (This is a lie.)

Producer - With allegations of children being abused, why hasn't law enforcement stepped in?

Leah -  "Please! print out this answer."
Other than basic reading, writing and athematic, there is no value in an education to Scientologist.  Scientologists send their children to a Scientology Boarding School at a very young age to become model Scientology children.  There they will get help from the LRH techs and they will be with like-minded children from other Scientology families, so they won't have any outside influence.

Producer to Leah - Where do you think Michelle (Shelly) Miscavige is?  (Shelly is the wife of the leader of Scientology now, David Miscavige.  She used to be right beside her husband, as his assistant.) 

Leah -  I don't know, that is why I filed a police report.  In 2006, I was invited to Tom Cruise's wedding (to Katie Holmes).  All the top clergy of Scientology were there.  It was a big deal for the church.  I was standing by a fire place in this big castle in Italy, and I said "hey, where is Shelly?"  She is the leaders wife and here it is the biggest thing of the century and it was weird that she wasn't there.  I thought to myself, this is the leader's wife and I shouldn't be asking about her.  (She was a real good friend of Leah's and no one seemed to concerned about where she was.)

Producer - If David was to step down from head of Scientology, would we see any sort of a change in the church? Either for better or worse?
Mike and Leah - both - "NO!" You will never see any change in Scientology.  Scientology is 100% controlled by the writings of L. Ron Hubbard, called the "Policy", and he is dead, so he cannot change his writings and nobody else has the authority to do so.

Leah - Is it true, David Miscavige is bad?  YES, but if David Miscavige wasn't there, they would grab....and they'd, you know, give him a shower and then he would carry on the same legacy, because that is what Scientology teaches.  So they are only upholding L. Ron Hubbard's "policy". 

Producer - What do you think will ultimately take down the Church of Scientology?

Mike - Its own activities.  (The church claims there is no such place as the hole.)  The Hole is a building that David Miscavige designed at the International Headquarters of Scientology in Hemet, California, where myself and eventually about 100 people were locked in two double-wide trailers, sleeping on the floor, eating slop, to beat one another up until they confessed to their crimes. 

The Church of Scientology maintains that any allegations of assult on church executives by David Miscavige are false.  It was reported that Mark Yager was beaten up by Miscavige.  Mark Yager denies any physical abuse by David Miscavige.

Producer reading - I have a family member who has been a member of the Church for many years and now she has disconnected herself from us.  What are some ways to reach out to her and show her we care about her? 

Leah - I hope that even one parent in Scientology or any other cults wakes up and realizes, "I need to protect my own."  If people could just get behind a curtain and see what Scientology has done -- complete destruction, of my childhood, of my entire family, their policies caused this."  All of this destruction is Scientology.  In the end, this family lost it all.  The whole family has disintegrated because of Scientology.  You have to fight for your friends, you have to fight for your children.  I don't care what kind of cult you are in, I don't care what religious theology you believe in, but you need to protect your family, you need to protect your children, and the people who you claim to love. 

Producer - How often do you meet shattered families that have been able to repair after Scientology?  Are there any? 

Leah -  Support the show, as they have been.  Write to their congressmen and women.  Demand that the IRS take another look at the tax-exempt status.  One person leads to two people, which leads to more and more, then maybe we could stop a lot of hurt. 
Leah to Mike - And people should know this about Scientology, those of you who are watching this about me, and they should know this about you.  I don't give up.  I'm gonna make it a career out of exposing this organization, its practices are not going to continue.  It might not be this year, it might not be next year, but eventually, its gonna happen.
