ELDER DAVID ROSS

Sunday May 16, 2021 was a very sad day for our church World Wide, as we read the latest update on Pastor David Ross and his progress in the hospital.  He passed away about 7:00 p.m.  I don't know the details at this time. Makayla, his wife, has probably posted it on Face Book.

He was diagnosed with COVID-19 and two very bad infections in his blood and lungs. He was very sick and in a local hospital, but he continued to get worse.  He was transferred to a hospital in Indiana and put in ICU on a ventilator. This hospital had a special machine which kept him alive longer than the doctors thought at first he would last.  His wife Makayla moved her family along with her sister Cassia Schlenker to Indiana so she could be there for David daily. Things were looking up and everyone was praying for him.  He had a bad turn one night and almost died, but God spared his life a little longer. He kept improving and he was taken off the ventilator and the special machine and was breathing on his own. The doctors had began talking about him getting over all his sicknesses and eventually going home. That was the last report I had read until I got on my computer to check his progress on Sunday.

Pastor David lives in the State of Michigan with his wife Makayla and their three little daughters Neva, Selah and Eden. (Yesterday May 17 was their oldest daughter's birthday. Neva turned 5)  He is the Pastor of our Owasso, Michigan Church, which is on the campus of SpringVale Christian School.
He has a very moving testimony about how he came to Christ while in prison.  He was asked to give his testimony, which was videoed. It was posted on YouTube and he posted it on Face Book.

It is hard to understand when God takes people that we see and feel as called by God and serving him to the best of their abilities.  God has been good to David and kept him alive longer than anyone thought he would.  So much improvement that gave everyone hope that he would come out of all of this and go home someday soon. God knows what is best and we have to rely on his loving kindness to do what is best for the person who is on their death bed. It is very sad when we loose a loved one, but mourning should be but for a night, because Joy comes in the morning.

So many people get bitter toward God when they loose a loved one. He never promised us a comfortable sin free life without hardship.  Otherwise we would take it for granite and think I am saved, I don't have to worry about my salvation anymore. That is so untrue. Faith without works is dead. You can backslide, many times and still have to ask for forgiveness to have eternal life.  Then there's the concept that everyone has been programmed into, that when a loved one dies they go to heaven.  That is so untrue also.  Preachers have drilled it into their heads that their loved one is gone on to join the others who have gone before.  They are in heaven with God looking down on us and taking care of us.  Only God and Christ and the angels are in heaven.  God is the only one looking down on us and taking care of us.

Please remember Makayla and the girls in your prayers.  Makayla had to take on a big job when David went into the hospital.  He took care of all the bills, mortgages and etc. She had to figure out what to do in his place. Plus she was upset and stressed out about maybe loosing him and taking care of the girls. Thank God her sister Cassia was able to move with her to Indiana and help take care of the girls. Pray for comfort and peace for Makayla and her relatives, church family and friends of David's. She is a young wife and mother and now will have the full responsibility of raising her girls on her own.

May God continue to Bless all of you,

*STARLIGHT*
