NEW DRIVER ID LICENSE

IT'S FINALLY DONE!  Today my husband and I went to the Bryan Tag Agency in Coweta, Oklahoma and got our new ID/Driver Licenses.  They take your picture and you fill out the paperwork.  You get a receipt for the new license with your picture, but the actual license is mailed to you within the next 30 days.  You carry that receipt as your license until you get the actually license in the mail.

So much misinformation has been being shared as to where to go and get your licensed renewed or get the new License ID.  I was informed that after October of this year 2021 your current license will not work to fly.  You have to have the new ID or a Passport to fly. It is sad that the government cannot or won't get the word out about the new license and that most Tag Agencies that still make licenses, you now have to make an appointment.  Here in our little town, the Tag Agency no longer makes license. They only deal in vehicle tags, tax and titles.   

Most Tag Agencies are so busy now, you have to call and make an appoint-ment.  Most places are booked until the last part of June.  The grace period for renewal used to be 30 days, but it was extended to 60, but I was informed today that one girl got a ticket because she was driving on an expired license and couldn't get in right a way to renew hers.  That isn't fair.  

There are a few places that take the first 25 walk-ins of a morning for renewal and new license ID's.  The Bryan Tag Agency in Coweta takes walk-ins all day.  My husband had an appointment in Claremore, but had been trying to get in just to renew his.  He had tried Coweta once and was 16th in line.  He finally had to leave and there were 6 still in front of him because their systems kept going down. Today we both decided to go and get the new License ID at Coweta. We got there about an hour and a half before they opened. You go in and take a number.  If you are a ways down the line you can take your number with you and return later.  We had one person ahead of us because she was from yesterday, and had to return this morning.  So we were numbers 2 and 3.  We were in and out in about 30 minutes.  Glad to finally have his done.  Since I was going to be there already with my husband,  I went ahead and got the new License ID.  My license doesn't expire till next December 2022.  I had understood since mine hasn't expired yet, if I got a new one now, the time left on my old one would be added to my renewal date.  I misunderstood.  Since it is over a year until mine is due for renewal, I still have to get a new one the end of next year.

People on FACEBOOK beware, when someone tells you they can walk in to a certain Tag Agency and get their license renewed because the place isn't busy, call the Agency and check first.  There aren't many who take walk-ins.

THE LIFE OF SAUL/PAUL
