HE ANOINTS MY HEAD WITH OIL

He anoints my Head with Oil is from the 23rd Psalm.  This was shared to facebook by Esperanza  Burilson February 19, 2021 

I always wondered what this Psalm 23 verse meant.  I thought "He anoints my head with oil" was a figurative language that meant God kept the psalmist healthy.  I never knew this parallel:

Often sheep get their heads stuck in braces and die trying to get out (unravel) and there are horrible flies that like to torment sheep by laying eggs in their nostrils that then the eggs turn into worms and boost sheep
to slam their heads against rocks, sometimes to death.  Sheep's ears and eyes are also susceptible to insect torment.  The shepherd anoints the whole sheep's head with oil.  And that way the sheep manages to have peace.  That oil forms a barrier of protection from evil that tries to destroy them. 

Do you have moments of mental torment?  Do troubling thoughts invade your mind over and over again?  Do you hit your head against the wall trying to stop them?  Have you ever asked God to anoint your head with oil?

He has an endless supply!  His oil protects and makes it possible for you to fix your heart, mind and eyes on Him. . .today and always!  There is peace
in the Valley!

May Our Father anoint your head with oil today and always, so that your life will overflow with His spirit, health and blessings forever!

THE LIFE OF SAUL/PAUL

            Paul was born a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin.  He was also a Roman Citizen.  He was born in the Roman City of Tarsus.  In those days people had dual names.  Before he was known as apostle Paul, he was known as Saul of Tarsus.  Saul was his Hebrew name, Paul was his Roman name.  As Saul before his conversion he sought out the believers in Jesus.  He would hunt them down, bind them up and take them to Jerusalem to be killed.  Jesus did not change his name at his conversion.            Saul went to the high priest asking for letters to allow him entry into the synagogues at Damascus, so he could hunt down men and women that professed to be believers in Jesus.
