Wednesday's Journal Entry
Good afternoon one and all. I am just now getting to my journal. I had big plans for today, but woke up and decided to stay home. It was a stormy day yesterday. Rain, flooding and tornadoes. God kept me safe from it all. I praise his holy name.
Today October 10, 2018 was a big day for the membership of the Lakemont Shores POA in Eucha, Oklahoma. A lot of illegal stuff has been going on the last few years. Not good stuff. POA didn't pay IRS Taxes, County Taxes or Employee taxes for about 3 years. Yearly audit wasn't done for like 3 years either. One year the board was told by the office manager that the taxes were paid. There was money to do so. The office manager later said she didn't pay the taxes and she was told not to pay them. The IRS has now put liens on the POA properties not sold. There are about 3 lawsuits filed with the County of Delaware. Also an injunction has been filed against the POA, for a receivership to take over Lakemont Shores. Today's court was on the 16 de-annexed subdivision that happened in 2015. The board at that time, voted to let the 16 subdivisions de-annex. Now they are saying it was done illegally. The POA got a lawyer and they are now in court about this de-annexation. It has been postponed from back in July. I had planned to drive to Delaware County and be at the hearing to find out what went on. I wanted to be there very much. I understand that the injunction was to be discussed and ruled on also. Praying all goes well and that this case will be over and done with.
Praise God I was able to help a fellow neighbor yesterday. Her youngest son has had about 10 surgeries over a bone infection he got. He is just 10 years old. She commented yesterday that she had never been this far behind on bills ever. She felt her life was out of control. She needed gas money to get to OKC for an appointment for her son. She worked enough to pay for that gas. I text her and ask what she needed right then. She said she was behind on her cell phone bill and she needed to keep it on. I was able to take care of that for her. Praise God he made it possible. I feel truly blessed to be able to help this mother. She was our neighbor back in the late 80s, along with her mom and younger sister. God has been with her through these months with her son. First when he was in so much pain, the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then they finally discovered he had the bone infection. It is a very painful infection. He has missed a lot of school. Please pray for this family that God will continue to be with them and in control.
My cousin I have commented about before, who has the two young boys, the situation with her oldest is better. No more seizures in the past few days. She had an appointment with the dentist to check both boys for ties in their mouths, Monday morning. The baby had 5, I do believe. The dentist took care of his on Monday. The oldest has a couple and he goes back in November to get his taken care of. The oldest which she calls Little Man is back to his smiley self. She praises God for his many blessings to her little family. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.
My husband occasionally works on Sundays. This next Sunday the 14th he is scheduled to work. Usually that is the Sunday the local board has their monthly meeting, but it has been canceled. The down side to that is, I wanted to go to the lake lot and check on things. I wanted to take my weed eater and cut down some grass and weeds. I don't usually drive that far alone. Maybe my daughter can drive down with me and we can spend a few hours there. I am getting anxious to begin doing things on the property. We want to make a circle drive. We have talked about and planned it for months, possibly a couple of years. We have never even had it graded. I want to get it staked out and graded. Later we want it paved in concrete, but if we get it graded soon, we can drive and park on the driveway while we clear more trees and get ready to move a small prefab cabin on to the property. Later we can add to it, but for now we do not need much space. Just a place to stay in for a weekend.
The afternoon is passing by. I have a few things I need to do around the house. So it is time to finish my journal entry.
Take Care,
