Tuesday's Journal Entry
Well I missed Monday. Can't quite get in the groove to do daily entries. It was like this when I had a diary n my teens. I would forget to make a daily entry. My mom for years kept a little spiral note book and put in notes each day. I have them now that she is gone. One of these days I want to read them in order. I had thought about typing them up, but I think I will leave them as they are. In her writing.
At the White Elephant Sale at the church Saturday night, I bought some curtains, that I plan to use in the house. I have made all the ones we have had in the house since we first moved in. I had made cream ones the last time, but to much white everywhere. I wanted some color back into the rooms. So I made a crimson color in the living room for OU. Our bedroom curtains are the same color, but very faded and worn. I had taken down the cream ones in the dining room and put up the old blue ones I made for Craig's bedroom. They are faded on the back side and worn. Don't look so good anymore. I took some of the curtains I bought and put them up in the dining room for now. I plan to make new ones to match the living room ones and then move the ones up now in the dining room to our bedroom. They are sheer curtains but work fine since we have blinds on the windows. I want a change in our bedroom.
I finally got new ink cartridges for my printer. I don't like the fact you cannot run the printer without both black and colored ink at the same time. Used to if you ran out of color ink you could still make copies in black. It now costs more to keep the ink up in the printer. So when I run out of the black I go to the library to make print outs. Cheaper than going and buy more ink. I can wait further between new cartridges. Back on the 5th of October on our way back from my cancer check up and mammogram, Cortnie took me by Office Depot to buy new cartridges. I forgot to take my old ones so I would be sure and get the right ones. We went in and I was all excited that I would have ink in the printer again. I got the wrong cartridges. What a big let down that was. At first Cortnie told me to order them from amazon and then return the wrong ones for a refund later. I never got around to doing that. Finally today she took them back and exchanged them. The right ones were about $20.00 cheaper. So I got new cartridges and a little extra cash.
I did something I said I wasn't going to do, purchase new hearing aids. It is a lot of money but to me well worth it. I wound up getting better ones and got a $700.00 discount. HearingLife where I got both pair, has a life time check up and batteries on aids you buy from them. I hear so much better now. These new ones have a microphone that fits in your ear and then the aids on the back of your ear has more microphones than my old ones did. The aids use bigger batteries but the life of the batteries are longer.
We paid off our house mortgage back in April of this year. We were so excited. That wasn't the end of what we owed the government. We had received subsidy back a few years ago, when Rick wasn't working very much. We still owed the government the subsidy. So the house wasn't yet fully paid off. We had been waiting to see how much we still owed, but the government wouldn't tell us until we paid the mortgage off. Over the life of the mortgage we owed $10,740.00. They had to determine the market value of our property so they could calculate the amount of subsidy recapture we owed. I figured it would be $10,740.00. Praise God that wasn't the case. The actual amount of subsidy recapture we owed was $3,849.10. If we paid the full amount within 120 days we are entitled to a 25% discount from the amount owed. That would leave a balance of $2,886.83. Wow what a blessing.
I called our local bank to see if we could add to the current loan we have. The loan officer looked over our loan and credit score, and asked how much we needed. I thought it was a consolidation, but instead they paid off the old loan and added the amount we needed to pay off the house and wrote up a new loan. It is for 36 months, $128.36 a month. That payment is lower than the one we are now paying. God has truly blessed us. He continues to bless us. If you serve God and let him be in control, you will receive many blessings. Daily blessings. If you wake up every morning that is a daily blessing.
Take care my dear friends, God Bless
