Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday's Entries
I have gotten behind on my entry's. I missed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Here it is Monday and I am just now getting to my journal. It was a very eventful week-end. Actually beginning on Friday October 5, 2018.
On Friday I returned to CTCA for my first mammogram since my breast cancer surgery April 4, 2018. This mammo was just for my left side. Both the techs' and my surgeon Dr. Michael Thomas, said the mammo looked good. Now this is before a radiologist read it. I am confident the results will show I am still cancer free. I will go back for another one in 6 months, just on the left side. I will get a test on the right one in December for my yearly mammo. One of my Doctors said she couldn't see why they couldn't schedule me for both at the same time. That would be so much easier on me. This last mammo hurt me more than any I have had. Not because of the tech doing it. I think it was because that is the side I had surgery on. I was sure hurting after that. Praise God I am cancer free.
On Friday evening my husband got a call from Bob, Rick's friend and brother in Christ and my cousin's husband. He was in tears and could hardly talk. It was hard for my hubby to understand what was going on. His grandson had a bad seizure and was on his way to the ER in Tulsa by ambulance. It didn't look good. The paramedic's asked the mom if she believed in God. If so then she needed to pray right then. Things didn't look good for little man. I had just finished cooking supper. We got ready and headed to the ER. We arrived before mom and grandpa and went into the ER room to be with grandma. She had rode in the ambulance with little man to the ER. In the mean time, our youngest daughter got a text from a friend saying little man had a seizure. Grandma told us about it when we got to the ER. The doctor came in while we were at the bedside. Little man was sleeping. He told grandma to just let him sleep and they would continue checking on him for a while. My husband and I went to the waiting room to let grandpa and mom come in to the ER room. Grandpa later came to the waiting room and visited with us. I looked up and there was mom with little man on her shoulder. The doctor was sending them home. The doctor said if in the next 24 hours he had another one bring him back immediately. They went home and had no incident over night.
Little man was able to eat and drink a little and keep it down. He seemed almost like himself on Sabbath. Sunday morning, he had another seizure. Not as bad as the one on Friday evening. Mom and little man rode in an ambulance to the ER. We got there before grandma and grandpa and were there for moral support and prayer with mom, until they arrived. They admitted him to the hospital and got him a room. They were going to keep him over night and run some tests. A different doctor saw him the second time. He said he was having febrile seizures that were not uncommon. Many babies has them for a while and finally they go away. The first one on Friday was due to a sudden fever spike. The second one was because he had an ear infection. They got him to his room and he was so uncomfortable. He wanted down. We stayed awhile and our Pastor came up and he anointed little man and prayed for him and mom. We left and headed home. The doctor came by later and said they could either stay overnight or go home. There wasn't really anything they could do to stop him from having seizures. He felt little man would be better at home. Mom agreed. We got a text from grandpa that they were headed home. In the mean time I had text grandma and mom about an update. I haven't heard anything today. I am sure all is well and God is still in control. If he should have another seizure they are to head back to the ER.
Our son went to truck driving school back in March of this year. He has been on the road most of the time since then. He has switched trucking companies, because the first one wasn't doing him right. He started with a different one and now he isn't getting enough hours to make a living. He enjoys the travel, but not the short hours and money. He is considering leaving truck driving. He went into the field because he had hurt his back in August of 2017 and had surgery in November of 2017. His current job wouldn't help him out and said he was faking his injury and he needed to come back to work. The doctor wouldn't release him back to work because the company didn't have any light duty for him. He could only get short term disability. He gave up on the company he was with helping him out. So he applied to trucking driving school. The week he left for his training his job terminated him. He has worked for the same company twice for a few years each time. He is a good worker and would help out and fill in for people, but the company was not fair or very nice to him.
My shoulder that I injured back in July is coming along just fine. I haven't had to take much pain reliever. The steroid shot the doctor gave me worked wonders. I was able to use the arm and shoulder for the first time in months. He said he could do surgery on the injury but he felt with exercise and taking Glucosamine, it would heal on its own. The doctor also found Osteoporosis arthritis in that shoulder. So I guess for now it is something I will have to live with. Just take pain relief and do my exercises.
I believe I have gotten caught up on my journal entries. Have a great afternoon and God Bless.
