Another Week
I am so sleepy this afternoon. As I sit here trying to make a journal entry, my eyes grow heavy. I don't understand. I got eight hours of sleep last night for the first time in weeks. I shouldn't be sleepy. Maybe it is because I am still tried from a long day yesterday.
Yesterday was a very long and tiring day. It was clean up day for the October Super Sabbath Friday and Saturday and Oklahoma Conference Annual Business Meeting on Sunday scheduled to take place at the Dover Camp grounds this coming weekend. We were a little short of help. Only five adults showed up to clean up five buildings. I guess you could combine the children's class room and the youth building into one. I cleaned the Lane Event Center, by myself. I was at it all day. I was offered some help but wasn't ready for the floors to be swept at the time. Now when I say the Lane Event Center, there were a few areas left as is. No way could it have all been cleaned in one day. So if you attend this weekend, overlook the little stuff, please. Some of the main ones who usually show up for work days and clean up days, were absent yesterday. I remember as a teen coming the week-end before camp to help clean up and have the buildings ready for camp. Those were very long and tiring days. Some times we would go down Friday evening and stay the weekend and some times on Saturday night. Clean up day was always a full day on Sunday. It is sad that many who want to come to these events, do not feel the need to come and help clean up. They want to enjoy the services or camp, but do not want to put out an effort to help make the place ready to stay in. I understand the ones coming from a distances not having the time or funds to drive out. They are excused by me. I am talking about the ones who just want to enjoy without putting forth an effort to help make the place comfortable. Time for me to get down off my soap box. (I have wondered many times why or what that saying really means. What is a soap box? Is it really a soap box someone stands on to give a speech?)
I finally got a paper copy of my report from my mammogram on my left breast. As of October 5 this year, there are no signs of cancer at this time. Praise God, praise his holy name!!. The tech and the doctor that looked at the test right after, both said it looked good. Of course the test had to go to a radiologist to be read. I have what they say is dense breasts. This causes problems when trying to read a plain mammogram. As I have mentioned before, the last 4 to 5 years, I have had to go and get a second mammo. I get the ultra sound mammogram. Until last year everything looks good. In the past they have found polyps which is nothing to be concerned about. God has been good. I don't know why since they know I have density, they don't order an ultra sound mammo and be done with it. So when my yearly mammo test came around in December I truly felt nothing would be found. That wasn't the case this time. They found a very small tumor. I had to take the second ultra sound and then a biopsy. Which all ended up with a surgery on April the 4th of this year.
My left shoulder continues to heal nicely. Funny thing is the last few days, it has been my right shoulder being painful. Not fair to switch sides in the middle of the stream. I pray God will heal both of my shoulders, in his time. I got a new mask for my CPAP machine in the mail on Thursday. I was sure glad to see it arrive. When I first got the machine I chose the nose only mask. It didn't work well for me. I then went to a full mask which covered both my mouth and nose. But it wouldn't stay sealed all night. I was struggling with it after about four hours of use. I was about to say forget the whole thing. Maybe I should have trusted more in God the divine healer. He is the ultimate healer. You may choose to go to the doctor after weeks or months of pain. It is hard to take all the medications and vitamins I am told to take at once. Some of the pills are huge and I have trouble swallowing that many at once; So I have begun taking so many in the morning, some right before lunch and then the night ones to take.
I need to manage my time more wisely. I do plan out my day, but many times after getting up for the day, I do not want to even get dressed and go out. That is not a good thing. I do not like to shop not even window shopping. I hate planning meals and going to get groceries. I don't like to cook or bake. I hate washing dishes and doing laundry. It would be nice if those things could be done for you. I guess you could go to the internet and get ways to get this done. Except maybe cooking meals. I am a terrible house wife. My house may be a little messy but I am not a hoarder. I do not make piles of things all over the house where the area left is just walking room. I can get to my bed, and the furniture. There is plenty of space to move around in. I pray I never become like that.
The renovations on the church are to begin this week. It was a misunderstanding in that the one in charge at the church misunderstood the start date for the project. He thought it was last week. It is to begin this week. A lot had to be taken out before the main project fixing the floors, could begin. Supposedly it is to be finished in about two weeks. I just do not see that happening. I am no expert, but I have been around new buildings and remodeling projects in the past. I just do no see it happening in just two weeks. It would be great if it was done by then. It is almost time for our Thanksgiving dinner and program at the church. There is talk of having to make arrangements to have it some place other than the church this year. It is hard to believe Thanksgiving is coming up in just a few weeks. Where has the year gone? Faster and faster the year passes each year.
Time for the second return of our Lord Jesus Christ is approaching. It will be here before we know it. That is why we should always be ready. If we wait until the end, we just might miss out on being in God's eternal kingdom. We are to watch and be ready for the day may could happen in seconds, as the scriptures of his holy word admonishes us to be. Don't put it off. Get it done early and be watching and ready.
God blessings to you all.
