New Blog Name
I have decided to call my blog "Starlight's Journal". I wanted a place to come and put my thoughts down, not so much for others to see, but as therapy for myself. I stopped posting to my blogspot Starlight's Ramblings for a few years. During that time, I used the Notes app on face book as my blog. It was okay for a while and then I began having second thoughts about posting some personal thoughts and how I interpreted the scriptures and sharing those thoughts on face book.
FAIR WARNING: I wanted an online journal I could post to. I didn't want to write in a journal. I would rather type. This helps me to put my thoughts down and read over them later. This journal is therapy for my mental state. So if you are not interested in my thoughts and opinions definitely don't come and read my blog. If on the other hand, you would like to see what I have to say, I have put the link for this blog on my face book page.
I will be posting things that upset me and things I do not feel should go on in the church.
I will be making comments about how I feel the church in general is changing and to me it is not all good changes. I am very concerned about the General Conference and the Board of Directors directions for the church. I do not agree with some of the by-law changes that were made at the past General Conference Convention business meetings. I do not feel that only the members in attendance at these business meetings should be the only ones have a say or a vote for members to serve on the Board of Directors. There needs to be a new system. There needs to be representatives that will attend and vote as the majority of their area that cannot attend the meetings want to vote. Maybe have the representatives there for the one who cannot attend and then also the membership that is present. I do not feel it is fair that maybe 600 people make the decision for the conference when the membership is was more than that.
I still want to also post family history information for those who want information on their family, and do not want to take the time or don't have the time to do the research for themselves. I have a lot of information on some branches and a lot of the research was done by someone else. I am not that good of a researcher. I do like to share what I do know and have found out. It can get time consuming and costs mount up to send paper copies through the mail to individuals who wants copies of the histories. If the information can be posted on this blog, others can come to it and write the stuff down or make copies of what is posted.
