Genealogy
On this blog one of the sub headings is Genealogy. It has been quiet some time since I have posted any. I have been editing my family pages on Angelfire. I like how am re-typing the information on those pages. It still isn't quiet what I envisioned for them to look like. I am no longer doing research or adding to any of the genealogies I have completed. Others on my husband's side are doing his family history research as it should be. I am just taking information to add to my on personal histories. People just do not cooperate. They like for me to send them what I have put together, but do not keep me up to date on births and marriages as new members come along. The beginnings will not change, but as new members are added you have to lengthen the pages. That means many more re-writes. Some times in doing re-writes things get messed up and some information is put on the wrong person. It gets very frustrating for me. I am fairly happy with what I have complied now to pass on to the next generations. I am sure many will not be interested in where they came from, as my three children do not care.
Check out my family history pages on Angelfire: http://www.angelfire.com/stars5/starlight0/index.html. That is if you want information on the Hinds, James, Johnston, and Thomasson Families. I know some have found connections to these families through my posting of the family histories on my Angelfire page. The one I am editing right now is the H-I-N-D-S Family. This is my mom's side of the family. If you are into Family Histories and research, I hope you enjoy what I have posted.
The H-I-N-D-S family is originally from Ireland and Scotland. They came to American from England. I do not know what year. Most researchers that I have talked to cannot find records of the family before William H. Hinds of Tennessee. I didn't even know of my great-great grandpa nor his wife or where they were born until about 1998. The history I began compiling began with my great Grandpa John Henry Hinds born in Arkansas. I never met him. He is my grandpa Oscar Hinds' dad. He was a preacher and started a bible study group that later became a church group about 1905. He moved from Indiana to Braggs Indian Territory in about 1893. Later he moved his family to Inola Indian Territory for one of the Oklahoma Land Runs. I was born in December of 1952, and John Henry's wife Alice Clark died June 1, 1953 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I was told she held me one time when we went there to visit her. This wasn't to long before she passed away.
I hesitated to keep both pages going for family histories, but decided to keep both. Many that I am in touch with are on face book or search face book for information. I know others do not use face book but search the web. The Angelfire account is for those who search the web. Since I will be no longer adding new members to the family trees nothing should changed up to the point I stopped adding members and new information on the families already included in the genealogies.
I am sure I am repeating myself about these histories. I began posting the Hinds and James genealogies on my face book page for those who wanted the information from me. The problem is I do not remember where I left off on either family. I will have to search back through my previous postings to see where I ended. If you want the information from face book, please be patient with me while I get back on course.
Have a great day!
