"SABBATH"

Happy Sabbath friends. God is so Good! We had a very nice service at church today. Brother Eric Townsley from the Tulsa church spoke for us. I always enjoy hearing him speak. Our attendance has been low for several months. We all need to pray that the ones who are not attending, will soon be back with us. I like that our group is small. I wouldn't like to be in a big congregation, with serval services on Sabbath. I don't see how you could know everyone you went to church with. There's not that closeness and fellowship you get with a smaller group. This doesn't mean I don't want our group to grow. That would be nice, but I don't want the group to get to big.

What I am about to say wasn't what I orginially was going to post. But I heard from two different people about the members of the church going out to eat after church. I feel if you keep the Sabbath as taught in the Bible, you wouldn't be doing that. We know the Bible teaches against working on the Sabbath and having gain. It doesn't come right out and say we are not to spend money on the Sabbath. The thing is if we spend money on the Sabbath we are paying for someone else to work on the Sabbath. People make the excuse that the people would be working even if we didn't go eat. That part is true, but you are paying for them to work for you on the Sabbath. Someone has to cook the particular food you eat and someone will serve your particular order. So they are working for you. I know this is my opinion and I do not have scripture references to back it up. I am just using common sense. I am not writing about this to offend anyone. What each one does on the Sabbath is between them and God.

It is not healthy people who need a doctor, but the sick..."And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Matthew 9:11-13

God did not look at our frazzled lives and say, "I'll die for you when you deserve it." No, despite our sin, in the face of our rebellion, he chose to adopt us....His grace is a come-as-you-are promise from a one-of-a-kind King....So trust your Father and claim this verse as your own: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. These words and scripture were quoted from Max Lucado.

"Casting all your care on Him, for He cares for you." I Peter 5:7. Thanks to my sister-in-law Patty once again. I found the words above on the back of our Church Bulletin this Sabbath. She has been putting some very good stuff on the bulletin for us to think about. Be sure and read everything on it. It is very interesting.

Remember God can't love you more than he already does! God Bless You!
