"Trying Tuesday"
What a day this has been. This morning I was so sleepy, and not feeling all that great. I went to work, but it was hard to concentrate. I wound up leaving about 2 hours early. Good thing I have a good assistant that can run things on her own. I stuck it out as long as I could. By the time 5 o'clock rolled around, I was ready to hit the road. I would have gone home and straight to bed, but as usual, I had to go the grocery store and put everything away, when I got home. Then hello bed, here I come. I took about a two hour nap. It really helped. By the time I got up, I was feeling much better. Please pray for me.
I am having a hard time, putting my thoughts down tonight. I have started two or three times and then erased everything. I have been putting in a lot of hours on the computer lately. I am working the history of the Church of God (Seventh Day), which is the church I attend. I have been in this church all of my life, but that isn't why I am still in it. I feel I am where I should be. I do not believe any church on this earth, has the whole truth. But I feel the Church of God is the closest to it. I don't agree with everything that is taught. The main thing is, we agree on the important stuff such as, Christ dying on the cross for all of our sins, the keeping of the Ten Commandments, the clean and unclean foods, taking part in the Lord Supper Service once a year, the Seventh-day Sabbath (we are not Adventist, but Advent believers), and abstaining from the celebration of pagan holidays, such as Easter, Christmas and Halloween.
The Church of God as an organization, was incorporated in Stanberry, Missouri in 1860. The church forefathers, believe we are a remnant of the church spoken of in Acts. We use the Bible and the Bible alone to establish our doctrines. Are we infallible? Yes. Are we open minded? Try to be. Do we backslide and have to ask for forgiveness from God? Yes. We are human, but God knows the intent of our hearts.
I didn't mean to give you a sermon. I am definitely not a preacher or a missionary. I am just a follower of Christ wanting to spread the Good News to everyone. I am doing what the Lord asked of us, let our lights shine before men. I am far, far from perfect. But I try my best to do God's bidding and follow after Christ. Christ is soon coming, and I want to be ready to meet him in the clouds. Won't it be wonderful, when God sets up His kingdom on this earth, and we will live forever with Him? No more crying or pain. No more death or destruction. All will live in harmony. We will want for nothing. The lion will lay down with the lamb. The Bible talks about the streets of pure gold. What a wonderful time that will be. Don't you want to be there? It is something to look forward to. This life isn't the end. There is a lot more to come.
Take care my friends. It is getting late. I have to put a load of laundry in the dryer and I wanted to work on the church history a little bit tonight. I am getting very close to the end and am anxious to get it finished. I hope my readers will enjoy reading it, as much as I have in writing it.
God Bless you All
