How Time Flies

Wow, here it is Thursday April 17, and I haven't posted anything on my blog in about 3 days. I thought I would jump on here every morning and put something down at least, before I headed for work. Looks like that might not work out. I know I had big plans for this blog, Genealogy, Church History, etc. etc. Mostly all I have done is put down my thoughts. It could be that is what this blog may be all about. So most of you probably won't want to read it. That's okay. It won't hurt my feelings. I like putting my thoughts down and reading over them.

I am a library director in a small town in Oklahoma. I have had this position since August 2005. I really didn't want to take it over, but I was the assistant and the director had retired. I worked by myself for 3 months, and had to do the director's job on my lowly pay. Actually I worked by myself for 6 months. 3 months still as the assistant and interim. I told the Library Board that if I was going to be filling in, until they found someone else, I needed a raise. I was surprised. I got one. It was a good one. I would have liked to stayed as the assistant and not have all the headache of being the director. The only drawback with that was, if I stayed as the assistant, when they hired a new director, I would have to go back down to my lowly pay. There was no way I wanted to do that. So I applied for and got the director's job.

In the beginning things were great. But things began to bother me, and I felt like I wasn't doing my job properly. In fact, I had a slight breakdown in 2006. I never want to feel that way again. I did a lot of praying and got through it all. In December of 2006, I gained an assistant, Paula Corle. I have known Paula for a number of years. She has been a library patron for many years. Her youngest set of twins, boys, and my son, Craig, use to play together. We live in the same neighborhood. Paula has been with me for a year and 4 months and things have been fine. Now there is another problem. The Library Board has a new Chairman and she and I have been butting heads, over my spending of the library funds and not notifing the board before spending those funds. Hopefully this too will pass.

I would write more, but I need to be on my way to work. I need to take my pick-up by the shop and have it checked out today. I am having a minor problem with it. Of course it does this now, that it is paid for. I had planned to keep it for a few more years, just keep the maintenance up on it. I may have to change my mind about that. I might have to trade it in. The biggest problem is, my husband and I just bought a new pick-up, a 2001 Ford Lariat, four door, off-road 4x4. Very nice truck. If I have to trade in my pick-up, there will be another bill to pay. I haven't had a vehicle payment in about 2 years. Keep me in your prayers.

Need to go. I got off on the vehicle problem, when I should be getting ready for work. I knew I shouldn't have gotten on here this morning. Have a great day and God Bless.
